Our story
Becoming a better human than the day before has been at the core of who I have aspired to be in my family, community, and life. For me, this also comes along with an instilled desire to make everything “cozy and pretty” in various ways in the world around me.
Becoming an eager entrepreneur with a creative calling aligned with something inside of me. I’ve carried a love of color, quilts, and fabric for as long as I can recall….so, it was simply to began creating quilts for others from the clothing of loved ones, custom baby quilts, and occasionally quilting for others on my Tin Lizzie long-arm quilting machine out of the basement of my home. My daughter, Saralyn, helped fulfill the quilt orders as they grew. Some time into it, I made this my full-time schedule and quit my day job. A few months in, I began making and adding homemade soaps, bath bombs, beard oils, balms, and gift baskets to my little home-based business.
There I was, peddling my entrepreneurial items within my community and a few adjoining communities with growing visions in my head. I found myself wondering if I could indulge others into wanting to order my homemade pies. After all, I now had this large kitchen and couldn’t let it go to waste. So, it blossomed into taking pie and cake orders, bouquet cakes for birthdays (placing floral arrangements on the tops of cakes), Wedding Cakes, Charcuterie, and other home baked items.
with a notion in my head that our town could benefit from a quaint brick & Mortar quilt shop to bring visitors to our small rural town and aid in the revitalization of our downtown, a dream came true, for just a while anyway. Life happened, life changed, and so did my spirit for a little while.
Fast-forward to the early Summer of 2024. being asked to fill in at the local flower shop making arrangements had been on my bucket list for quite awhile and it happened. Those six days were the happiest days of the previous year and a half. My spirit was restored, and I was inspired again.
When you have a creative mind….it never rests. Thoughts and ideas come to life between those two ears! You don’t just get them, and they go away…. they tug at your mind and heart. At least for me, it’s the tapestry by which I was created. One that drives me crazy, yet I also cherish because it makes me feel alive. Not a day goes by that I am not seeking color, design, patterns, recipes, hobbies and keeping with the “secret ingredient” always being love.
This would be where “Simply Blissed” becomes “Simply Blissed n’ Blooms.” With my daughter’s encouragement, I am integrating florals with the fabric shop right here on my home property. My daughter has created our first website, and it will include a Blog she’s been after me to write for years. These steps will work towards a vision I’ve had in the back of my mind since purchasing my home with its pond and mini forest…. a vision of providing an affordable outside wedding venue, a place for photo shoots, and maybe someday to include an event building. The vision is just that, a vision. An idea. a possible long-range plan.
My quaint business motto, “Always follow your path to bliss,” is one I do my best to live out each day. On days I don’t achieve it, I do my best to be a better human the next day.

Loved going in to pick out patterns for our baby blanket. She had the most beautiful fabrics in a huge array of designs. Can’t wait to see the finished product!
